My blue suitcase

APRIL 2026

Welcome to my Blue-suitcase: Genesis

My Blue-suitcase is a space where life experiences are unpacked, examined and turned into tools for navigating life.

Psychology teaches and informs us about human behavior- the reasons for it, the sources and the science of it.

Life experience teaches us about human beings as a whole and as individuals. It equips us with the practical tools to deal with fellow human beings in a way no philosophy or theory can. This process lasts a lifetime and is shaped by our personal journeys, which makes it unrepeatable and uniquely ours. Only by truly experiencing life—and having the right guidance—do we become ready to face its challenges head-on.

Blue-suitcase started as a concrete straightforward concept. It was inspired by my small blue carry-on which goes with me everywhere in the last 20 years; work- trips, holidays and family visits. I wanted to share my journey with fellow nomads, who might find it useful and relatable. As I moved to Germany, the concept shifted and metastasized into something bigger, less personal or concrete but yet much more powerful.

After years of trying to define what it is, I finally got to an acceptable definition that fits the current concept: my Blue-suitcase is actually an adaptable internal space which, by collecting labelling, sorting life experiences and forging them into useful tools, it helps me counter life.

Sounds quite amorphic doesn’t it? Maybe too poetic, but hey! Why not?

Along the way, I learned a humbling truth: I don’t know everything, and I can’t handle everything alone. I needed a toolkit. And eventually I realized I already had one—my small blue carry-on, both literally and metaphorically. It just needed to be packed properly.

Just as we pack a suitcase with what fits the journey (flip-flops included), we pack ourselves—consciously or not—with mental and emotional tools for the challenges ahead.

As a nomadic artist with no clear idea of what the future might bring, I started with a small blue pouch. Over time, it became a rich collection of personal guidelines. My professional life as an opera singer—over two decades of performing classical music worldwide—deepened both my experience and my understanding of human nature tenfold.

My Blue-suitcase changes continuously, collecting new information and experiences, making me wiser and stronger as I go And I believe this isn’t unique to me. We all carry our own inner suitcases. Different shapes, sizes, colors. We may notice them or ignore them—but they serve us all the same. Wherever we go—professionally, socially, personally—our Blue-suitcase gathers what’s right for us, helping us grow more confident with every step and brave enough to take the next one.

We grow, we learn, we fix, we change, and then—hopefully—we move forward. I’ve known triumph and I’ve hit rock bottom. At some point, I chose to become better than I was—and to be of value to others walking a similar path.

Why blue? because I like the color!

If you’ve made it this far—thank you. And if you choose to stay, I hope your visit here is meaningful, useful, and enlightening.

Welcome to my Blue-suitcase.

Yours

Shachar
